LEAGUE CITY -- Scott Oswald rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns as Clear Lake topped Katy Taylor in the non-district season opener for both teams.
After a scoreless opening quarter, Oswald scored on a 33-yard run set up by a Clear Lake fumble recovery. The Mustangs tied the score at 7 before halftime on Michael Gregory's two-yard run.
The Falcons led for good on Chris Sprout's 35-yard run late in the third quarter. Oswald, who completed a pass for 23 yards, put the game away with a 28-yard keeper that made it 21-7 with two minutes remaining.
