Houstonian Earns Award at Dartmouth College November, 2006 Dartmouth College quarterback Mike Fritz (Houston, Texas) was awarded the Bob Blackman Trophy as the Big Green's 2006 most valuable player, given annually to the player who contributed the most to the success of the team. Fritz ended the season with a 61 percent completion rating, as he completed162-of-263 passes for seven scores. He also ran for two in his 10 games under center.
At Clear Lake High School, in Houston, Fritz was First Team All-District and third in the 5A greater Houston area with 1,670 yards passing as senior. Fritz was selected as the 2002 team MVP and chosen to 5A all-state scholastic second team. Fritz was awarded three letters in football and captained the team as a senior. After graduating from Dartmouth, Fritz will pursue a career in international business. During his junior year, Fritz completed an internship with General Electric. After that, Fritz spent the summer traveling in Europe and taking two courses at London School of Economics. During his sophomore year, Fritz attended the University of Otago in New Zealand.
