Clear Lake Falcons Quarterback Club

Website Game Day Sports Writing Guidelines

According to The American Heritage Dictionary, the definition of a booster is as follows:

"Any device for increasing power or effectiveness. One that actively promotes something."

The Clear Lake Falcons Quarterback Club is considered to be a booster club in the eyes of Clear Creek ISD. Following the intent of the definition outlined above, we will write summaries of our football games that "actively promote" our teams. Our sports reporting will be positive, and our goal will be to boost the morale of our teams. Even when faced with a loss, we will promote the positive perception of our teams.

Guidelines for reporting:

  1. Win or lose - summarize the game in a positive manner. Remember that we will be posting our write-ups on the web. Brothers and sisters at college, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, college scouts, and even potential employers can access this site nationwide. The web is a powerful tool. We will use it with respect.

  2. Refer to the players by using their last names. In the course of a season, try to mention as many different players as is possible.

  3. Try to mention the unsung hero of the game.

  4. Recognize the accomplishments and efforts of the coaching staff.

  5. Recognize the efforts of the trainers.

  6. Summarize the statistics for every game. It is helpful to have someone assist you while spotting the game, or make arrangements with the coach to get his statistical summary.

  7. Do not judge the officiating.

  8. Only pictures with positive captions depicting our players and their coaches in a positive light will be posted on our website.
