Herschel
(2001) is beginning to get significant game time at Northwestern University
where he is playing cornerback. He has been a backup to the starter, but it
looks as if he is getting more time each game. NWU will be playing Penn
State Saturday, Oct 19, at 11:00 on ESPN2. Here's what the
Northwestern Web Site has to say about his playing:
The Scouting Report:
A talented, young defender who has unlimited potential ... One of team’s
best cover guys ... Begins the fall as a backup cornerback behind Raheem
Covington ... A likely candidate to get the nod as NU’s nickel back ...
Excellent in press coverage ... Striving to become more consistent with
his approach to the game ... Strong player.
2001:
Due to injuries in the defensive backfield, was called upon for duty
beginning with the Purdue contest on Oct. 27 ... Played in four games before
missing the finale at Illinois with an injury ... Debuted with four tackles
(two solos) against the Boilermakers ... Registered a season-high nine
tackles (five solos) at Indiana ... Totaled six tackles vs. Bowling Green
... Earned one Defensive Championship game performance.
